Coach Jaime Fisher enters her 12th season, 20 years of camp experience, Named 25 player to All-SCAC/SAA teams. Fisher led the Majors to the semi-finals of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) conference tournament in each of the last three seasons including a championship match appearance in 2012.
Fisher has coached 20 players to SAA All-Conference status and the 2012 and 2014 SAA Conference Players of the Year in Kasey Laird and Caroline McKey and 2015 Defensive Player of the Year Ashley Zamjahn.
The 2014 season was a successful one for the Majors, who finished at 22-6 overall. Millsaps got off to a blistering start to the season, winning their first 11 matches and first 26 sets. Three Majors earned All-SAA status, including SAA Player of the Year Caroline McKey who also earned All-Region status.
The 2013 season included an NCAA record-breaking win over Birmingham Southern in the SAA conference tournament quarterfinals. Millsaps outlasted the Panthers 46-44 in the second set, an NCAA record for most points in a set. The Majors also set an NCAA record for most points scored in a four-set match.
Before returning to Millsaps in 2008, Fisher was assistant coach at Division-I Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) for the 2005-2007 seasons. While at SEMO, she served on the NCAA Assistant Coaches Committee. Fisher was a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Mississippi from 2002-2004.
In addition to coaching volleyball, Fisher serves as the Millsaps Senior Women Administrator, Title IX Coordinator and Compliance Coordinator. She also represents the Majors on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division-III South Region Committee.
Fisher (formerly Burns) is a native of Centennial, Colorado and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in higher education from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 2002 and 2004 respectively. A four-year letter winner, she holds top 10 records in side out scoring in 5 categories; 3rd in total kills in a match, 6th in career total attempts, 7th in career kills, 8th in career digs, and 9th in career aces.
Jaime and her husband Ta’Boris Fisher (a standout wide receiver at Ole Miss) reside in Jackson, MS with their son, Braxton. Fisher has won several state championships, one regional championship, and a national championship in competitive adult tennis after picking up the sport in 2010.
